So I assume there will be few folks that can help me on this, but I will try anyway.

Red/Blue Capsules R3/B3

For

Red Type A body

I am looking for another capsule to better suit female vocals. (Have R7 now)

Anyone heard the B3/R3?

Thanks Folks

It's pretty simple, really:

You take the blue capsule, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red capsule, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Nope, but I bet they're C-12 / ELAM clones would suit your needs pretty well. I believe they're the B0 and the B9? I can't remember off the top of my head. All listed on the blue and vintagemicrophones websites though.

The only other cap besides the (B/R) 7 that I have personal experience with at the moment is the 8 that normally comes with the mic body. If you don't have one, it's the same sound as the Bluebird, which some people like for female vox. I like it on acoustic guitar and haven't had a chance to hear any female singers with that cap. Tried it on my own voice, it wasn't terrible but I would use the 7 instead.

The 0 and 6 caps seem to be well liked.

I think it's the 6. The 6 is a really nice, fairly bright capsule. The 7 has that sort of U47-ish midrange thing happening.

Thanks guys, I currently have the R7

We are going to do some pre-production (live recording) and I will try to use the R7 cap for that just to see, but i suspect it being a little 'Honky'

My concern is too much brightness and sibilance with the female voice. I have had little experience with female vocals, so I am feeling very ignorant here.

This is the band I’m recording this for.

Thanks
